Project Goals and Tasks: Development and optimization of the use of novel ultracold, strongly polar—and strongly polar and magnetic—molecules in optical tweezers and optical lattices to create a new generation of ultracold molecular qubits and two-qubit quantum gates, aimed at devising a more efficient quantum-computing architecture (a quantum computer). To achieve this, we will study the structure and quantum-control capabilities of the proposed molecules, develop an optimal method for encoding qubit states in them, design optimal two-qubit gates, and explore their use in real quantum computations and other applications such as quantum simulations and high-precision quantum measurements.
